You've heard about it, but what exactly is Steampunk; aside from being the fastest growing sector of science fiction culture? Here is your chance to ask the questions you have and gain the insight of the many Steampunk experts that are attending Fan Expo Vancouver. Panelists include: Kristina Uyeda, Bob Lepine, Deb MacKenzie (Rosemary) and Dolce Douleur.

Saturday November 11
How do the fine and gracious ladies of Steampunk settle a disagreement? With a parasol, of course. It's not fiction; in this demonstration our gals will be using the official rules from Madame Hemlock’s parasol dueling league. And an added attraction, the spectacle of specially modified Nerf Guns in the dueling arena! Panelists include: Jayne Barnard, Kevin Jepson

Fantastic gadgets and weapons play an important part of many a Steampunk costume... Steampunk is after all a form of Science Fiction, and gadgetry of all sizes help add the "Science" to that equation. Our panel of expert prop-builders have years of experience and will share techniques and tips on making your own. Panelists include: Bob LePine, Scott Murphy

Sunday November 12
It might seem like everything called "Steampunk" costs an arm and a leg, but it doesn't have to be that way. Learn some tips and tricks for getting a steampunk look starting in your own closet, or from items picked up at a traditional store. Panelists include: Tracey Ernst, Deb MacKenzie (Rosemary), Anna van der Loos-Meyer, and Dolce Douleur

Eva Foam and Worbla are great! However, leather is classic, durable, and long-lasting. Over the course of human history, this versatile material has been used for clothing, accessories, and armor. Get to know it, see it, smell it! Join us on a tour of how we use this amazing material for cosplay and everyday uses including handling, storage, tooling, and much more. I'd like to introduce our Guest Artist, Melissa Mary Duncan, the extraordinary local folklore and fantasy artist.  She is the artist who painted Time Travelers' Bazaar's banner (above).  She will be bringing with her cards, prints, paintings, and copies of her art book.  Her work will transport you to another place and time.  Here are just a choice few examples of her work.  Check out her Facebook page for more, and to see what she's working on now!  And come to the Bazaar to see her work on a piece in progress!
And there's a rumour that a costumer has been working in collusion with Melissa Mary Duncan to reproduce the costume Queen Mab is wearing in the first image!
